SpeedPilot is a GPS speedometer with a windshield HUD, speed alerts and a trip log. This page explains what the app handles and why.
SpeedPilot asks for your location "While Using the App" to measure speed, heading, altitude and distance. When you tap Start Trip, the app keeps measuring with the screen locked until you tap End Trip; iOS shows the blue location indicator during that time. Location is processed on your device only. It is not sent to us, to Google or to anyone else, and it is not used for advertising.
Your settings (unit, gauge style, speed alert) and your trips (start and end time, distance, average and top speed, and the route) are stored only on your device and are not backed up to iCloud by the app. You can delete a trip by swiping it in the Trips list, or delete everything by deleting the app. If you export a trip as a GPX file, you choose where it goes.
The free version of SpeedPilot shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising identifier (only if you allow tracking in the App Tracking Transparency prompt), IP address, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent through Google's consent form before any ad loads, and you can change your choice at any time in Settings > Ad privacy choices. You can also turn off tracking in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. Learn how Google uses data: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Buying SpeedPilot Pro or Remove Ads turns off all ads.
SpeedPilot Pro and Remove Ads are sold through Apple's App Store. Payments are processed entirely by Apple; we never see or store your payment details. Purchase status is checked on your device with Apple's StoreKit.
GPS speed is for information only and can differ from your vehicle's speedometer. Always follow road signs and your vehicle's instruments, mount your iPhone before driving and never use it while moving.
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new effective date.
