Solena is a personal diary for perimenopause and menopause: hot flashes, night sweats, symptoms, periods and the treatments you take. It is designed so that your information stays on your iPhone. This page explains what the app handles and why.
Hot flashes and night sweats (time, intensity, duration, possible triggers), daily check-ins (symptoms, mood, sleep, energy), period days, treatments, reminders and notes are stored only on your device, in the app's local database. They are not uploaded to us or to anyone else, and the database is not synced to iCloud. You can export everything as a CSV file, save a backup file to a place you choose, or delete everything at any time from Settings > Delete all data, or by deleting the app.
If you turn on Sync with Apple Health, Solena asks for permission to write hot flashes, night sweats, menstrual flow and spotting, and to read sleep analysis. Data written to Apple Health is only the entries you log. Sleep data is read only to show, inside the app, how nights with night sweats compare with other nights. HealthKit data never leaves your device through Solena, is not stored in iCloud by the app, is not used for advertising or marketing, and is never shared with third parties. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app under Sharing > Apps > Solena.
Check-in and treatment reminders are local notifications scheduled on your device. They are never sent from a server and never contain marketing. You can turn them off in the app or in iOS Settings.
The "Log Hot Flash" and "Log Night Sweat" shortcuts save an entry in the app's local database on your device. Solena does not send what you say or log to us.
Reports, CSV exports and backup files are generated on your device. They are shared or saved only if you choose to, through the standard iOS share sheet or file picker, to the places and people you pick.
Solena Pro is sold through Apple's App Store. Payments are processed entirely by Apple; we never see or store your payment details. Purchase status is checked on your device with Apple's StoreKit.
Solena is a tracking tool for informational purposes only. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or dosing. Always follow the instructions of your healthcare provider.
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new effective date.
